I work in high-conflict, high-stakes areas of law: family disputes and criminal allegations. My job is to think carefully, advise plainly, and help clients move through difficult proceedings with clarity and a steady hand.
After more than two decades at the Bar, I now focus on legal consultancy: strategic case analysis, drafting, hearing preparation, and litigation support. I work behind the scenes with clients, with solicitors, and with litigants in person who need experienced legal thinking on their side.
A long career in law teaches you that very few matters are simple. Mine has included long trials, formidable opponents, and difficult periods of my own. What that experience leaves you with, if you let it, is perspective: a steadier reading of pressure, of process, and of what actually matters in a case.
If you are looking for a consultant who will tell you only what you want to hear, I will not be the right fit. If you want someone who will treat your case with care, think deeply, and speak the truth, even when it is uncomfortable, then I might be.

Return order requiring me to leave the country has been stayed by Court of Appeal. Mariam did a really incredible job.
